| Information and Documents required for filing patent application for invention in the Republic of Lithuania
- National patent application or validation of PCT
- The Applicant's full name and address;
- Title of invention;
- Full name, domicile and address of inventor(s);
- Detailed description of invention;
- Claims;
- Drawings (if any);
- Abstract of disclosure;
- Power of Attorney (may be supplied within 3 months after the filing date).
(in case the Applicant is a physical person, notarization of Power of Attorney is required);
- Priority date, country and number of the first application, if convention priority is claimed (certified copy of the first application may be supplied within three months after the filing date);
- Certificate of official or officially recognized international exibition body, if exibition priority is claimed (may be supplied within three months after the filing date);
- Inventor's declaration / Assignment (may be supplied within 3 months after the filing date);
- The document certifying the deposit of a micro-organism strain if the subject of invention is a micro-organism strain or the use of a micro-organism strain.
Application may be filed in Lithuanian or English, German, French, Russian language (with subsequent translation into Lithuanian).
- Validation of a European patent in the Republic of Lithuania
- Translation of Claims of granted European patent into Lithuanian language;
- Power of Attorney (legalization is not required);
- Application number, filing date, number of European patent, International classification code, European patent publication date;
- Title of invention, name and address of inventor(s);
- Priority document number, filing date, country code.
Translation of claims of the European patent into Lithuanian language should be filed to the State Patent Bureau within three months from the date on which announcement of the grant of the European patent has been published by the EPO. Also the publication fee should be paid.
The Agreement between the EPO and the Republic of Lithuania for the extension of European patents to Lithuania entered into force since July 5, 1994.
